palms and sunbeds on a beach

Visited 2013

Occasion: Relaxing vacation, get some time away from stressful work. Also to celebrate my 30th birthday and my brother-in-law’s 25th birthday.

a great lake and a harbor seen from up a rocky hill
We had a few stops with our shuttlebus from the airport. Great moments to take some photos.

sunbeds and beach umbrellas on a beach on a evening with dark skies and quiet water
Walking down the Marmaris promenade in evenings was cozy. Beautiful ocean on one side, and restaurants on the other. And the promenade is quite long! It’s possible to follow it all the way to the neighbor city of Icmeler.

man being served food and vine by two waiters in a restaurant
Demir’s restaurant is a must to visit in Marmaris. The best service in the area. They are really entertaining while being very professional. And the food is outstanding! The owner also has a huge boat which he uses to take customers on guided trips on the coast at daytime.

street market filled with turkish sweets and specialities
Turkish markets are quite unique. They’re famous for their candies, but the behaviour of the sellers has a bad reputation. We experienced both good and annoying attitude amongst them.

ruins of old columns in a dry and hilly environment
Trying out some of the guided bus tours took us out of town to see both nature, towns and historical places. This kind of activity is a good addition to lying on the beach most of the days.
